The Nightcap - 8/5: Giants Sweep Rox, A's Split Series with Jays

Looks like Hunter Pence finally broke through with his new team, driving in three runs in a Giants' 8-3 win to sweep the Rockies. Hopefully we aren't watching a re-run of Carlos Beltran's short-lived career in San Francisco.

Another close game, but another loss for the A's who split a four game set with the Blue Jays.  I'm calling a sweep of the Angles. You heard it here first.

Was Monta Ellis a curse? You know, that 6'3" guard who took 90 percent of his team's shots? Good luck, Milwaukee.

And finally, Bud Selig's imaginary blue-ribbon panel secretly met with East Bay officials to discuss the possibilities of a new waterfront ballpark for the A's. Why does it have to secret, Bud? Reveal the identities of your panel so we can start ripping them instead of you! I'm am so looking forward to 2014.
