Raiders Running Back Mike Goodson Taken to Hospital (Updated)

Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson has been taken to the hospital following a helmet-to-helmet hit by teammate Philip Wheeler.

Goodson was on the ground for several minutes as paramedics tended to him and eventually was put on a stretcher before being loaded into an ambulance. It is reported that Goodson suffered a neck injury.

"He did have feeling in his extremities, which is good news," Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said.

First and foremost, let's all hope Goodson's injury is not serious and he makes a quick recovery. He has had a very good training camp and seemingly was beating out fellow running back Taiwan Jones for the back-up job behind Darren McFadden.

But, if he is not healthy enough to come back and misses significant time, the calls for a Cedric Benson signing will ring louder and louder as camp and the preseason progresses.

More news and status updates to follow as it gets released.
