A's Look to Steal Series from Tampa: Preview, Lineups

After hanging on to defeat the Rays 5-4 last night, the A's will look to take the series from their AL Wild Card opponents.

Brandon McCarthy (6-5, 3.16 ERA) will take on Jeremy Hellickson (8-8, 3.28 ERA).

Here are the scoops on the starting pitchers, courtesy of MLB.com:

Brandon McCarthy

McCarthy was in rare form Monday, surrendering six earned runs for the first time in more than a year, yielding 10 hits in just 3 1/3 innings against the Twins. He had given up no more than five runs in his previous five starts.

Jeremy Hellickson

Hellickson allowed one run over seven innings for the second straight start Monday. He finished with six hits and a walk against him to go with six strikeouts, the most he's had since punching out eight on June 2.
