Giants Acquire Scutaro From Rockies

The San Francisco Giants have acquired infielder Marco Scutaro from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for minor leaguer Charlie Culberson.

In 94 games this season, Scutaro is hitting .271 with four home runs and 30 RBI. He has spent eleven years in the majors with four different teams (Giants will be his fifth), and has a career batting average of .270.

Scutaro started at shortstop for the Oakland A's from 2004-2007, and was a fan favorite. However, he will most likely be a role player for the Giants, as they lack an experience right-handed hitter on the bench.
