Posey Out Again: Notes, Preview, Lineup

After sweeping the Dodgers in Los Angeles, the Giants will return home to face the Atlanta Braves for a four-game series.

The Giants will hand the ball to Barry Zito tonight. Zito, who is 4-1 lifetime against the Braves with a 2.03 ERA, will oppose Tommy Hanson.

Hanson, who has dealt with an array of nagging injuries this season, was reactivated from the DL less than a week ago. In 6 2/3 innings pitched, he allowed three runs and struck out five against the Dodgers.

• Justin Christian was placed the on the DL today with a sprained left wrist. To replace him, Carlos Peguero receives his first major league call up. Peg

• Buster Posey is not in the starting lineup for the second consecutive day. Although, he’s hopeful that he can play tomorrow (Friday). 

• Pablo Sandoval is back in the lineup today after leaving the game early last night with  reoccurring hamstring tightness.
