The Nightcap - 8/12: Pence Officially Arrives in SF, A's Fall to White Sox

Welcome to San Francisco, Hunter Pence. He officially became a Giant today after hitting a go-ahead, three-run home run to left field to help beat the Rockies. 

The A's didn't have the same fortune. Bartolo Colon struggled, giving up five runs in 5.2 innings as the A's fell to the White Sox. 

How about some Olympics? Team USA won gold in men's basketball, confirming the inevitable. 

I have to say that from a personal standpoint, the 2012 Olympics in London was nothing short of perfect. Amazing opening and closing ceremonies, spectacular performances from the world's premiere athletes, and the USA finishing with the most medals.

Now, if only we could watch the Olympics live instead of on tape delay...
