Stats Analysis: Harrison Barnes

Harrison Barnes is the rookie that we're all going to love. Sure, he's going to shoot the ball too much, make a lot of mistakes, and turn it over, but he's a pure scorer and a solid SF. The Warriors are lucky to have him at the 7th pick, he may very well be rookie of the year, consequently, a huge draft steal.

Points: He and Klay Thompson will form a silent, but deadly combination. Their barrage of three pointers will be incessant. Defenders won't know what hit them. They will be running from one end of the floor to another, desperate to contest the shot. Barnes is a natural scorer. I predict he will average around 15 PPG, but he has so much more potential. He's on a team with many natural scorers: we'll see when the season starts.

Assists: Barnes isn't the kind of 'pass the ball' guy. He will take matters into his own hands. Until he learns how to create for himself and others, this will be a weak part of his game. I predict he average only around 2.4 Assists per game.

Rebounds: Barnes is athletic. That is one of the main reasons that the Warriors selected him. He has a nice vertical, therefore he will be able to get on the glass and rebound the ball. He needs to do this as a SF. With his speed, he will easily be able to go coast-to-coast. This will be a setup for his deadly scoring touch. He will average around 5.6 Rebounds per game.

Steals: Ah, the category that the Warriors will need Barnes to accelerate in perhaps the most. Defense has obviously been emphasized this offseason by Marc Jackson. Barnes has quick hands, good timing, and length as well. He should be swiping the ball from players all the time. Barnes will average 1.3 Steals per game.

Turnovers: He's a rookie. That's enough said. Richard Jefferson, David Lee, and Jarrett Jack can teach only so much. The rookies may or may not chose to listen to their words. It's okay for Barnes to turn the ball over because he's just learning. Barnes may average around 3.2 TO's per game.
