Stats Analysis: Brandon Rush

Brandon Rush gave us all quite a scare when he was thinking about actually playing for the Lakers. In the end, however, Bob Myers did a terrific job of getting Rush and Landry, the two players that we were going after all along this off season. Rush is a great young player, who plays good defense, has hops, and is unbelievable behind the three point line. He will be a serious scoring threat off the bench, or maybe even starting on the court for the Warriors.

Points: Rush is capable of averaging double digits, but since he's on an amazing team that are all capable of averaging digits, he won't. He'll be a role player that breaks out twice in 5 games. With his incredible shooting, it's hard not to. Rush should average around 9.7 PPG. Close.

Assists: Rush isn't much of a passer. He catches the ball, shoots, or recognizes what his defender is doing, and drives to the basket. He knows what he's doing, and how to handle tough situations. Luckily, he doesn't need to be a facilitator. Rush will average around 2.3 Assists per game.

Rebounds: As states many times before in my other articles, Rush has incredible hops. He dunks over defenders easily, so he should be able to rebound easily. His bulky exterior makes it easy for him to jump high and grab the ball, as well as blocking out his defenders. Rush should average around 5 rebounds per game.

3 PT %: This is a new one. Usually Rush shoots the three that gets everyone out of their seats. For a while in the beginning of the season, he rarely missed. This surprised me. I was even more surprised when I found out that he wasn't going to the three point contest. Rush will definitely see the basket wide open. I predict he will average around 46% on threes.

Turnovers: With the style of play that Rush has, he doesn't turn the ball over much, but then again, TO's are hard to predict.
