Giants to Activate Sandoval for Tonight's Game

According to Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News, the Giants will activate Pablo Sandoval prior to tonight's series opener against the Washington Nationals.

The Giants are in the process of cutting down the 13-man pitching staff which is essentially why Sandoval has yet to be activated.

Bruce Bochy said before the game that first base could still be an option down the road. In fact, Sandoval was taking grounders there before the game, but will play third.
