Update 8/26: The A's have optioned Chavez back to Triple A Sacramento, according to Sussan Sussler via Twitter.

The A's acquired pitcher Jesse Chavez from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations, the team announced.
Chavez came up with the Pirates in 2008, and has played on four teams in five years.This season, he is 1-1 with a 8.44 ERA in nine games and two starts.
For his career, Chavez is 7-11 with a 5.74 ERA in 174 innings pitched in five season. He will take the place of Tyson Ross, who was demoted to Triple A yesterday.
