A's Look to Beat Up on Twins - Preview, Lineups

If the A's are to sneak into a playoff spot this season, they will have to beat teams that they are supposed to beat.

One of those teams are the 50-70 Minnesota Twins, who the A's swept in Minneapolis in July.

The Twins come into Oakland having lost five straight, while the A's have won four in a row. The A's should, at the very least, take two out of three - if not sweep the series.

Brandon McCarthy (6-4, 2.68 ERA) will pitch for the A's, and he draws Brian Duensing (2-8, 4.69 ERA) of the Twins.

Roster Moves

Dan Straily was optioned back to Triple A Sacramento, and Brett Anderson was called up. Anderson will make his first start since coming back from Tommy John surgery on Tuesday.

Anthony Recker was also designated for assignment to make room for Anderson on the 40-man roster.

Athletics Lineup 8/20

Cespedes LF
