Warriors: Need for Backup PF Grows

Problems, Problems, Problems. Spurning, Spurning, Spurning. Although the Warriors have had quite a productive off-season, they still lack a good backup PF. This could really hurt them. As David Lee sits on the bench, getting a much needed rest, Draymond Green is struggling to guard premier PF's like Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Love. This is a problem that NEEDS to be addressed. It's not that Green is a bad defender: he is strong, and some-what fast, but he's only a rookie. Veteran PFs can manipulate him pretty easily.

I feel that Dominic McGuire would be a smart re-signing for the Warriors. They need McGuire to play good PFs, coming off the bench. McGuire is somewhat a veteran. He's been in the NBA over 5 seasons. He knows most of the tricks and gams. There's only one problem in re-signing McGuire.

Brandon Rush. The Warriors need him. Bazemore is our safety guy. The Dubs signed him just incase Rush signed with the Lakers. Bazemore will get playing time, but not as much as Rush will if he re-signs. The Warriors are willing him to offer him all the money they have left. This isn't good because then there's no money for McGuire. The Warriors need to offer him at least 1 million this year. That means Brandon Rush would get no more than 4 million this year.

It's not a big deal, but these days, NBA players tend to go where the money is, not where the best opportunity is. At this point, Kenyon Martin and Carl Landry are almost completely out of the picture.
